Past event
Sep 16, 2019, 7 to 8:30 PM

Is there a constitutional right to vote in the United States? What restrictions on the franchise can localities, states, and the federal government place to shape the composition of the electorate? Three Norwich University professors, Rowly Brucken, Mark Boonshoft, and Jason Jagemann will facilitate a discussion of the history of voting in the U.S., including how the Constitution, Supreme Court, and state laws have defined, interpreted, limited, and ignored this democratic cornerstone since 1787. Dessert and beverages provided. The event will take place in the Todd Multipurpose Room of the Kreitzberg Library on the Norwich campus.
