Talk by Gabriella Karsch at Sheldon Museum

Gabriella Karsch will talk about the early 1950s Girl Scout uniform she wore as a young girl (née Sally Anita Smith) in Middlebury. She recently donated the uniform to the Sheldon Museum's vintage clothing collection. Gabriella will share stories from her time as a Girl Scout and share highlights of her varied careers, including her time as a high fashion model in New York and Los Angeles, serving in the USO in the1960s and entertaining the troops during the Viet Nam War.

The uniform and other girl scout memorabilia are on view at the Sheldon during the month of September as part of the Hidden Treasures series. Members of Middlebury Girl Scout Troop 51875 will begin the program by reciting the Girl Scout Promise and will close the program by singing the traditional Girl Scout song "Make New Friends" Were you a Girl Scout in Addison County?
