"Tour de Pownal" Fall Bike Ride

Welcome a new season and get to know your river with a with a free recreational bike tour on September 28. The ride is co-presented by the Pownal Recreation Task Force and the Hoosic River Watershed Association (HooRWA). The 23-mile loop begins and ends at at the former Mack Molding parking lot on Route 346, at Lincoln Street. It includes optional shortcuts for a 10-mile or 17-mile version of the ride. (Note: the route is paved except for a one-mile section of hardpack gravel on Indian Massacre Road.) Bring snacks and water. Meet at 9:45 am for a 10 am start.

The Pownal Recreation Task Force, whose membership is open to anyone interested, is working to create hiking and other outdoor activities that advantage of Pownal's potential access points to the Long/Appalachian and Taconic Ridge Trails and the Hoosic River. (https://pownal.info/)

The Hoosic River Water Association (HooRWA) serves the three states through which the Hoosic River flows (Massachusetts, Vermont, New York) through education, research, advocacy and recreational activities to involve the community in the life of the river — and the river in the life of the community.
