Learn from a leading expert about recycling and reducing our waste stream:

"How Warren & Washington Counties Can Transition from Incineration to Zero Waste" (Sept. 12th evening) and "Creating a Zero Waste Plan" (Sept. 13th morning)

Neil Seldman, PhD, director of the Waste to Wealth Initiative at the Washington, DC-based Institute for Local Self-Reliance, will visit Warren County on September 12 and 13. He will assist area residents, officials, and businesses in creating a plan to move toward Zero Waste, increasing the effectiveness of recycling, and diverting food wastes for composting. The Clean Air Action Network of Glens Falls, a local membership organization, is sponsoring his visit.

On Thursday, September 12th at 7 pm, national expert Neil Seldman, PhD, will deliver a public talk entitled "How Warren and Washington Counties Can Transition from Incineration to Zero Waste" and answer audience questions. This evening presentation takes place in the Scoville Auditorium at SUNY Adirondack, 60 Bay Road, Queensbury, NY. The event is sponsored by the Clean Air Action Network of Glens Falls and co-sponsored by the Sustainability Program at SUNY Adirondack. The program is free and open to all, with no reservations needed.

The following morning, on Friday, September 13th from 9 am to 12:30 pm, Dr. Seldman will offer a training on "Creating a Zero Waste Plan for Warren and Washington Counties" to enable residents and officials to practically apply the Zero Waste approach locally. This workshop will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Glens Falls in Queensbury. Pre-registration is required. Donations will be accepted to help defray costs.
