September 21st, 12:30 - 4:00 at the Stoner Woodlot (495 Hanks Hill Rd) join the Vermont Land Trust, Sterling College, WonderArts VT and the Orleans County Forester to learn about the cultural importance and ecology of ash trees through art, stories, and science in light of the anticipated impact of the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), an invasive beetle affecting all ash species.
ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
-Free community picnic at 12:30 (please RSVP)
-Special kid's station and activities, including the Ash Passport
-Guided ecology walk
-Ash craft samples and demos by local artists
-Free Plein Air drawing class from 2:00 - 4:00 (all levels welcome! Spots limited, please RSVP to attend)
-All day invitation to artists of all abilities to come and paint, draw and photograph the ash trees and surrounding landscape, with an exhibition opportunity for completed artworks later this fall
