Please note our September Conservation Commission meeting will be held in the Municipal Building meeting room at 6:45 PM. A Community Values Mapping training will start at 7 PM led by Jens Hawkins-Hilke, Community Wildlife Program, VT Fish & Wildlife Department. Jens is a Conservation Planning Biologist. The Conservation Commission and the Planning Commission are the primary audience for this two-hour training; however, the public is invited to participate as well. Questions check with Eric Nuse (730-8111) or Lois Frey (635-7826).

There is one opening on the Conservation Commission. If you have an interest in becoming one of nine residents appointed by the Select Board to promote good stewardship of the town's natural, cultural, and historic resources. The Conservation Commission works in an advisory capacity with the Planning Commission, the Village Trustees, and the Select Board. It is the only board charged specifically with protecting the natural resources of Johnson. Check out the monthly minutes, which are filed on the town's webpage and also visit the Conservation Commission's Facebook page to learn more about the work of this active commission. We have fun while getting our work done and usually have cookies to share.
