Earth Matters and Transition Town Manchester present: "HOPE for the Future: Improving Food Production and Realistic Solutions to Climate Change."

Manchester Community Library, 138 Cemetery Ave, Manchester

1. Nourish: Food and Community. (26 minutes).

The film illustrates how what we choose to eat - individually and as a society - has an effect around the world, and how making more wholesome choices can improve the health of the environment, our communities, and ourselves.

2. Joanna Macy and the Great Turning. (26 minutes).

"The Great Turning" is the third major revolution of human existence after the agricultural and industrial revolutions. Macy says: "We are beginning to wake up, as from a millennia-long sleep, to a whole new relationship to our world, to ourselves and each other." It is a call to take part in a new "great adventure" in order to help create a more life-sustaining world. (Note: This is an uplifting film.)

These films are timed to leave room for discussion after each one, and for education about regenerative agriculture (what it is and how it can 'drawdown', or reduce, the level of CO2) and what we as individuals can do to address our climate crisis.
