Sterling College invites the public to attend a presentation by anthropologist Dr. Teresa Mares about her recent book, "Life on the Other Border: Farmworkers and Food Justice in Vermont." The free talk will be held on Wednesday, September 11, at 6:00 p.m. in the 1958 Room in Simpson Hall.
Dr. Mares is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Vermont. Her work primarily focuses on the intersection of food and migration studies. She will speak about food insecurity experienced by migrant farmworkers who labor in the dairy industry in the northeastern borderlands of the United States. Copies of her book will be available for sale and signing.
