Now an annual event, the Beanhole Supper will be held at Greenbank's Hollow on September 15. Based on a Maine tradition, beans are buried underground to cook overnight and raised to delight the diners. Beans are raised at 12:30 pm. The menu includes hot dogs, salads, blueberry cake and of course BEANS! Six pots are going under this year using six different recipes. It is served under a tent by Joe's Brook at the covered bridge. Buy tickets, $15 apiece ($11 for children) from the Historical Society, open noon to 7 on Tuesday and Thursday, or reserve your ticket by calling Laura at 802 684 2011.
