Sep 8, 2019, 11 AM to 1 PM

Many people have asked for a session on identifying and foraging for edible mushrooms!! Now is your chance! Look for common edible mushrooms in Shrewsbury. After a brief discussion at the Meeting House, we will car pool over for an easy to moderate hike on the Appalachian Trail, possibly finding boletes, chanterelles, oyster mushrooms and maybe even chicken of the woods and chaga. Bring your questions and expertise!

Julia Bonafine has been foraging for wild mushrooms in Shrewsbury for almost 25 years. During this hike she will share tips for safe foraging, examples of common look a likes, and resources for learning more.

This Shrewsbury Conservation Commission's Walk and Talk will occur rain or shine on Sunday, September 8, 11:00 – 1:00. Join us at the Shrewsbury Meeting House on Lincoln Hill Road!
