F-35 Rally, Burlington, Friday, September 6, Burlington

A rally protesting the F-35s is scheduled for this Friday, September 6, 5:00 to 6:30pm in Burlington at the top of Church Street. Several speakers will present information that will elucidate the local and worldwide dangers of the F-35.

Richard Czaplinski, President of Will Miller Green Mountain Veterans for Peace Ch. 57, will be speaking about the "wider worldwide implication of the F-35 and the growing worldwide militarization and its connection to the climate crisis."

The F-35s, which are capable of carrying and delivering nuclear bombs, are scheduled to begin coming into Burlington International Airport this fall.

Opposition to the F-35s is growing. The Vermont Senate, in a resolution (SR.5) passed in this session, expressed its strong opposition to the basing of any nuclear weapon delivery system in the State of Vermont." On August 12, the Burlington City Council unanimously approved a motion expressing its strong opposition to the basing of any nuclear weapons delivery systems at the airport.

Come to the rally. Learn about the impacts of the F35 and support the residents of Burlington in their opposition to the F-35. Bring your friends, carpool and maybe have an evening out in the big city.
