Join us for another busy farmers market! Live music from Chris Powers (10 to 1). This week we will be hosting a cooking demonstration from Giffords own chef Ed Striebe! Join Chef Striebe as he will guide participates around the market to gather local produce to make meals on-site! This event is free and open to the public, take advantage of this unique opportunity. Being accepted as an apprentice, Ed has studied under some of the best chefs in the country. He studied Japanese cuisine for eight years under Yutaka Yoshida, German under Thomas Werner and French under Phillip Carrie. Ed was a Chef instructor at the acclaimed New England Culinary Institute for eight years and attained the first-ever "Chef of the Year" for teaching excellence award.
Ed has gone on to win numerous medals in a culinary competition and has traveled extensively studying world cuisines. His passion for food and how it is grown and produced is a local benefit now. As Gifford Medical Center's Director of Hospitality, he is credited for bring the first-ever, hotel room service model to a hospital setting in Vermont, using top-quality ingredients grown locally when available.
