Mar 27, 2014

Join the Friends of the Winooski River for their annual dinner at the Cider House on Route 2 just past Waterbury. The evening starts with a 5:30 social hour, followed by a buffet dinner at 6:30, and will conclude around 8:30.

The featured speaker is Rob Evans, the River Corridor and Floodplain Manager for the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources. He will focus on what Vermont has learned from Tropical Storm Irene.

Rob will provide an overview of river and floodplain initiatives since Irene devastated Vermont in 2011. He plans to highlight important regulatory, incentive, education, and outreach initiatives that will impact how our river and floodplain resources are managed in the future. The presentation will highlight the new state rules related to floodplain, stream alteration, mapping and emergency assistance.
