Chester Rotary First Thursday, September 5, 2019

Congress is Coming After Your IRA - and More Legislation currently in development in the U.S. Congress will impact your IRA. To learn about its different components and how best to prepare for these changes, Ron Theissen, CPA, CFP® will present "Congress is Coming After Your IRA," on Thursday, Sept. 5th, as part of the Chester Rotary First Thursday Lecture Series, held at The Fullerton Inn, Chester, VT, from 5:15-6:30 PM.

Ron will highlight "the coming storm clouds" looming over your IRA planning; and he will dissect the SECURE Act: Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement Act of 2019. The House of Representatives voted 417 - 3 in favor of this bill. According to Congress, the purpose of SECURE is to facilitate retirement saving while making it easier for employers to offer retirement packages for their employees. However, there are adverse side-effects. Theissen will strip away the legalese and provide helpful tips on how to prepare for the upcoming changes, including ways to minimize the damage.

As a Certified Financial Planner and Certified Public Accountant, Ron specializes in comprehensive financial planning services, including tax consulting and investment management. He has more than forty years of diverse tax and financial planning experience and manages the Chester, VT, office of Fisher Financial Advisors, LLC. Ron has also been named an Elite IRA Advisor with Ed Slott & Co, nationwide IRA specialists.

The community is invited to attend the monthly event of Chester Rotary First Thursday. Hors d'oeuvres will be served and the bar at the Fullerton will be open. For planning purposes, please RSVP to chestervtrotary@gmail.com.
