Announcing the 21st annual Stark Mountain Hill Climb trail run October 5, 2019
Each fall for the last 20 years, the Stark Mountain Foundation has hosted a hill climb trail run from the Mad River Glen ski area at the base of General Stark Mountain to its summit. During the Hill Climb, each contestant chooses her/his own route to the summit.
Located just south of the Appalachian Gap in Vermont's Green Mountains, Stark Mountain offers its visitors an unparalleled multi-season recreational, environmental and educational experience including skiing on Mad River Glen's legendary ski trails, snowshoeing through the pristine alpine environment, hiking Vermont's famed Monroe Skyline, observing the mountain's resident wildlife and more.
"The annual Hill Climb is a rite of passage for many families in the Mad River Valley" says race director George Gonnella. "Green and Gold weekend at Mad River Glen has many activities surrounding it and we are tremendously excited to have been a part of it for over 20 years." Event cost is $25 pre-registration, or $30 on the day of the race beginning at 8:30 AM at the Mad River Glen base box. The race begins at 10AM, please arrive 30 minutes prior to the start.
