PEACHAM LANDINGS: REPEOPLING OF VERMONT
Meet author Paul M. Searls and discuss his new book, "Repeopling Vermont: The Paradox of Development in the Twentieth Century". At the turn of the 20th century, Vermont's overwhelmingly rural character was both a distressing problem to be solved, and the state's greatest asset. Northern Vermont University professor Paul Searls traces two distinct but interrelated stories to help illuminate the tension between progress and preservation in the last century, and how these forces continue to shape Vermont today.
Join us for an informal community dialogue that includes the author. You can check out his book at the Peacham Library now.

"Peacham Landings" is a storytelling and community-building project to gather and share stories, both historical and contemporary, of what draws people to the community of Peacham, Vermont. Peacham Landings is supported, in part, by the Vermont Humanities Council.
