Public Walk on Conservation Area Rescheduled

Past event
Sep 4, 2019, 5:30 to 7:30 PM

This public walk, originally planned for Wednesday, August 28, due to the rainy forecast has been rescheduled for next Wednesday, September 4. Tour a new public natural area in Williston! The Town of Williston recently acquired a 29-acre parcel of open space in northwest Williston. A proposal is being considered that would transfer the parcel to the Winooski Valley Park District. Should this transfer happen, WVPD would engage in a project to create access to the park, improve trails, signage, bridges and puncheons – all guided by a Management Plan designed to protect the natural values of the site. WVPD and the Town of Williston seek public input on this concept. As Part 2 of a participatory process initiated last spring, this site walk will showcase the property's natural and recreational resources and explore proposed options for access. We will meet at the Trinity Baptist School in the gravel pull off near the recreation fields. Wear sturdy waterproof boots as we will be crossing a stream. Hope to see you there!
