North Country Chorus Begins Messiah Rehearsals

Past event
Sep 3, 2019, 7:15 to 9 PM

Beginning next Tuesday, Sept. 3, the North Country Chorus welcomes singers to rehearsals for this season's performance of Handel's oratorio "Messiah." Alan Rowe directs rehearsals every Tuesday from 7:15 to 9 pm in the band room of the Morse Center for the Arts at St. Johnsbury Academy.

Performing mostly classical works since 1947, this community chorus is a mix of about 80 trained musicians, church choir members, music teachers, former school or college chorus members, and community music lovers, ranging from teens to retirees. New singers are welcome during the first three rehearsals of the season. The chorus is open to anyone who can match pitch, attend the rehearsals, learn the music, and participate in the performances on December 6, 7, and 8. No audition is required, except for chorus members who wish to be considered for a solo part.

To learn more about the chorus, go to www.northcountrychorus.org. New singers can register on-line at https://forms.gle/HAMTTbwB3wuRwfCY6. Questions can be sent via email to musicdirector@northcountrychorus.org.

Annual membership dues for adults are $35 for the entire concert year. Students are $20.
