Visit with author Karma Kitaj as she reads from her coming of age story "Beguiled". "Beguiled" will appeal to every young person who ever had dreams that were interrupted by cultural mores, by discrimination, or by their own shortcomings. "Beguiled" tells the story of Miriam Levine, born in 1900, daughter of Russian Jewish immigrants. Miriam dreamed of going on the stage until an almost fatal misstep forced her to postpone her "real life".
The reading will begin at 11:00 am and light refreshments will be served. You will also have a chance to see the lovely exhibit "Depth, Movement, and Light" which pairs paintings by Valerie Takvorian with poems by Mary Scriber.
All programs at the Moore Free Library are free of charge and open to the public. The library is located at 23 West Street in Newfane.
