Approximately one in five American adults will experience a mental health problem this year. Awareness and training is the first big step in addressing mental health issues in our communities. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Intensive 1 Day Course

September 21st 8 am to 5 pm at the Trinity United Methodist Church (137 Main St, Montpelier)
Adult Mental Health First Aid courses introduce participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, build understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teach individuals how to help an individual in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. This 8 hour course uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care. Mental Health First Aid is a nationally accredited evidence-based curriculum.This course is presented by Washington Co. Mental Health Services.
