Windham Regional Woodlands Association (WRWA) Forest Tour & Annual Meeting
Saturday, August 24th
–8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. rain or shine - Open to the public
Our annual gathering will be held at Shatterack Forest, 450 acres in the high remote valley of Cobb
Brook, which has been owned by the same family for four generations. Cobb Brook feeds into the
stunning Hamilton Falls in the adjacent Jamaica State Park, which at 125 feet is one of Vermont's highest
water falls. The program speakers will cover the story of the family, their woodlands, and the connection
to the wider Jamaica State Park and Nature Conservancy Glebe Mountain Preserve area. The WRWA
Annual Meeting will follow with the election of Trustees, report of activities and the presentation to this
year's scholarship recipient.
Following a lunch of grilled hamburgers, hotdogs and potluck side dishes there will be two
separate hikes through the property. One hike will be an informative walk to a recent harvest
area. The second hike will be a more challenging walk through the property to a hilltop with a
wonderful view.
Please email marli@sover.net or call (802) -254-8325 ahead and let us know how many
burgers/hotdogs/veggie burgers you would like. The registration Fee/lunch is $8, payable at the site.
