Great Talk at Lake George Historical Association

Past event
Aug 28, 2019, 6:30 to 8 PM

Last summer polio survivor and lifelong resident of the Lake George/ Glens Falls area, Louise Rourke, swam the length of the lake with swimmer Bridgit Simpson. Come to a great talk by Louise at the LGHA describing what it was like to grow up in this area with polio and to swim the length of the lake. Gwen Rippon, Diane Struble's daughter (Diane was the first to swim the lake in 1958), will introduce Louise.

Refreshments and discussion will follow the power point presentation. There is an exhibit about Diane and all the swimmers who have swum the lake at the museum which will be open that evening: 290 Canada St. It is free and no reservations are needed but do be mindful of parking issues in the village!
