Bob DuCharme 365-4162 Auditions Set for "Plaza Suite" April 2 and 3

Robert DuCharme has announced auditions for the Neil Simon Play, "Plaza Suite" April 2, Wednesday,April 3 Thursday 6:30 pm,Brattleboro Savings and Loan Community Room, located across from the library in the center of town. Enter through the back door.The play will be presented at the Williamsville Grange June 20, 21 and 27 and 28.

DuCharme will be using three separate casts."By casting the play with three casts, it is possible to cut down the rehearsal time and pressure for people who would like to take part. It would be fair to say that they would only have to memorize the lines for a one act play".

Three male and four female leads are needed in the 30 to 50 age range. A woman secretary in the same age range is required and small parts include a bell hop, waiter, a male and female in the 18 to 22 age range.

Act one introduces us to the "Visitors from Mamaroneck", Karen and Sam Nash. Sam is a high powered business man who watches his waistline and the waist line of his secretary Jean McCormack. Karen picked the same room she and Sam had for their honeymoon to stir old memories and amorous feelings. He doesn't cooperate Act two we meet the "Visitor from Hollywood" Jesse Kiplinger a successful movie producer and actor who is visited by his old high school sweetheart, Muriel Tate. Muriel is settled into her home life in New Jersey. Jessie, who is jaded by his many starlet conquest, is turned on by the challenge of the up-tight housewife.

The last act, "Visitors from Forest Hills", features Norma Hubley the mother of the bride her husband, Roy, who both run into many problems trying to get their daughter through a high-class wedding, the kind they never had. Mimsey their daughter has locked herself in the bathroom and will not come out.

People who are interested in working on props, costumes, stage managing , set decoration, and crew are encouraged to attend. "No experience is necessary and all the back stage folks are as important as those taking the bows" DuCharme said.
