The Dixie Six is a long-established band on the Burlington music scene made up of Vermont musicians. The idea is to recapture the sound and repertoire of Louis Armstrong's All Stars of the 1950's and 60's - a style of music that appeals to everyone from young to old. Though retaining a traditional dixie style, the band's updated rhythm section gives a newer flavor to New Orleans classics and mid-century standards. We perform regularly at private parties, weddings and other events, and are entertaining for ages 2 to 102. Local musician Tony Pietricola is a member.
By popular demand, the Dixie Six will return to the Island Arts Barn on Saturday, August 24th. Picnics can begin at 5:30 with the concert starting at 6:30. See you there!
