Potash Hill: The Years Before Marlboro College

Join the Marlboro Historical Society on Saturday, August 17, at Marlboro College. As we walk around campus, we will consider the history of the land leading up to the founding of the college in 1946 and recall some of the people who made their lives on the land. We will compare historic photos of the land and buildings with re-purposed campus buildings, and, of course, we will talk about potash. We will end with a short walk on an easy trail to the site of a former sugar house. Meet at 9 am sharp at the visitors' parking lot opposite the Admissions building on campus. (Note change from the usual meeting place.) Contact Jim Tober with questions or for further information at jim@marlboro.edu or at 254-8038.
