A new wave of antislavery thinking swept the country in the 1830's as some churches demanded immediate emancipation of slaves and equal rights for free blacks. Rokeby Museum (Ferrisburgh) Director Jane Williamson explores what happened and the impact on American society. The movement touched this area as the push for freedom expanded in Vermont.
