The next-to-last of the Craftsbury Chamber Players summer 2019 concerts will take place on Wednesday August 7, 2019 at 7:30pm at the Elley-Long Music Center on the Fort Ethan Allen campus of St. Michael's College. The first piece is a quite beautiful Mozart Sonata in A Major (K. 526) for violin and piano followed by Benjamin Britten's Phantasy Quartet in f minor (Op. 2) for oboe and string quartet. By age 21 when the piece was written, Britten had acquired a masterful knowledge of musical structure, and he had the technical ability to fashion sound to arouse profound musical reactions. The evening concludes with the Brahms Quartet #1 in g minor (Op. 25) for piano, violin, viola and cello. Tickets are $25, $10 for students, and free for children 12 and under. There is a Free afternoon mini-concert for children and families at 4pm. Free passes for the adult concert are available at all Chittenden County public libraries.
