Join the Marlboro Historical Society on Saturday, August 10, as we visit the site of the school house established in 1799 in the southwest corner of Marlboro later designated District No. 1. Marcia Hamilton will take us to the foundation and we will also see what remains of a chimney. We will explore some of the history of this school. Ephraim Holland Newton, the author of the Marlboro history, taught school here in 1805. The hike is not far from the road but sturdy shoes will be helpful to negotiate the uneven terrain. Meet at Newton House on South Road at 9:00 AM sharp and we will carpool to Jenne Road. For questions, contact Marcia Hamilton at m8rcia@gmail.com or call/text 802 490-0347.
