Topic: Genii Locorum: Working with Spirits to Heal the Land and Heal Ourselves

Fairies, plant devas, elves, dryads, ancestors! The hills are alive with, well.... something(s). This talk will explore the notion of "spirits of places", what those spirits are from various cultural perspectives, how to detect and interact with them, and how to work with them for the health and prosperity of the land, our communities and families, ourselves, and the world.

Speaker bio:
Kirk is a healer, teacher and social instigator. He is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist with over 25 years of practice in Chinese, Vedic, Greek humoral and other medical and healing systems. He is also a registered transpersonal psychotherapist and legal minister. Since 1982 he has been studying, practicing, and teaching many of the traditional folk religion and medical practices of Europe. He has founded both Cherry Hill Seminary, a professional ministry program with faculty and students worldwide, and Standing Stone Academy, with programs in traditional healing systems and various folk practices. He is also an active student of the Western Mystery Traditions. When not building local community and instigating social change, he lives, practices, and teaches at Laurelin Retreat in Bethel, VT.
