74th Hiroshima Anniversary Peace Walk
Tuesday, August 6th, 6:45 p.m.
People concerned about the use of nuclear weapons gather on the lawn of the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Participants then silently walk down State St.
and circle on the grounds at Montpelier High School where they share thoughts and songs of peace. They then go to the river's edge and launch lighted candle-boats with prayers for peace. The purpose is to honor the thousands of people who died in the first nuclear bombings in the city of Hiroshima, and Nagasaki, Japan, and to renew our vision for a peaceful world.
