Georgian Farm Feast

Past event
Aug 13, 2019, 5 to 9 PM

Come celebrate the bounty and beauty of summer with a spectacular farmhouse feast!

A Georgian feast is a celebration of life and human connection with lavish food, wine, poetic toasts, and breathtakingly beautiful song. In the early 2000's, both of us, Maria and Josh, traveled to Caucasus Georgia and had the honor of taking part in this ancient tradition. We will recreate the magic, Vermont style, using our own farm grown veggies, organic fruits and berries, sheep cheese, and grass fed lamb as key ingredients in the meal. The feast will take place in the old farmstead apple orchard, underneath the century old apple trees.

You will be hosted by our farm team and friends, including: event planners/hosts Jocelyn and Molly Mcelroy; local singers Emily and Vasili Gletsos, Kristin Urie, and Josh Krugman, along with Maria and Josh, who will punctuate the feast with beautiful songs from Georgia, Corsica, the Ukraine, and more; and renowned Glover artist and curator of The Museum of Everyday Life Clare Dolan, who will serve as the feast's "tamada", or toast master.

Gather at 5, the meal will begin at 6 pm.

Tickets are $65, kids under 12 $30. You can get a ticket online https://www.eventbrite.com/e/georgian-farm-feast-tickets-64567472047 , or email maria@catehillorchard.com to make a reservation.

Thanks , and we hope to see you there!
