Stone Hearth Inn 8th Annual Hot Dog Cook-Off
On Sunday afternoon, August 11th, the Stone Hearth Inn will host the Eighth Annual Hot Dog Cook-Off. Proceeds from this family friendly charitable event will benefit the Chester-Andover Family Center and Chester-Andover youth athletics. The event takes place from 1-4 at the Stone Hearth and will feature music, prizes and the famous Chester-Andover Family Center Silent Auction and Basket Raffle. The best part, however, is the rivalry among the "hot dog "chefs. So far, ten chefs have entered the competition and will be cooking "dogs" during the Cook-Off. Past attendees already know that these are not your average dogs. Chef participants get very creative, many going beyond toppings and crafting actual "dogs" from scratch. This is a culinary extravaganza and the competition is fierce.

The price of admission entitles you to all the hotdogs you can eat and a chance to vote for your favorite dog. Last year, the Smith family won the "Best Dog in Show" with a gouda stuffed, bacon wrapped dog on a lightly toasted bun, topped with a fresh mango-pineapple salsa. The crowd loved it. Will they retain their title? The Smith family has been taste testing their 2019 dog in a variety of secret NE locations. They will only reveal that the recipe is based on a Southern Inspiration. We can't wait! Join us at the Stone Hearth Inn from 1-4 on Sunday, August 11 and vote for your favorite dog. Admission is $20 for a family of four, $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Your participation will support the Chester-Andover Family Center Food Shelf and Financial Assistance program helping local residents struggling to make ends meet and will provide funding for local youth athletic programs.

The Stone Hearth is located at 698 VT RT 11W in Chester. Call the Stone Hearth at 802-875-2525 or the Family Center, CAFC, at 802-875 3236 for additional information.
