"Their Names Are Mine" Book Talk and Spoken Word Poetry

Past event
Aug 4, 2019, 4 to 5 PM

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Please join us for the second speaker in our annual "To Sing of Common Things" speakers' series. This year's theme explores the meaning of the old African-American saying: "Making A Way Out of No Way." The series is moderated this year by Dr. Wanda Heading-Grant, Vice President for Human Resources, Diversity and Multicultural Affairs at the University of Vermont (UVM). Poet, spoken word artist and author Rajnii Eddins will talk about his new book "Their Names Are Mine" and perform some of his favorite poems. Books will also be available for sale. Enjoy some powerful and beautiful poetry, discussion and socializing with the author and other community members who will be attending.

This Sunday from 4 PM- 5:30 PM at the historic Barn House (now with air conditioning!) at 2122 Greenbush Road in Charlotte. This event is free, donations are always welcome. Learn more and register to attend: http://bit.ly/CFFSingTheirNames

Our third annual "To Sing of Common Things" humanities speakers' series is funded in part by the Vermont Humanities Council and ArtPlace America.

We'll see you there!
