Sewing for Change at Field Days - Aug. 10

Past event
Aug 10, 2019, 10 AM to 2 PM

Sewing for Change will be sewing cloth bags at Field Days, on Sat. August 10th, from 10 a.m. – 2 pm. We'll be in the Frances Monroe Home and Garden Building, with patterns, fabric and sewing machines, so stop in and sew while you're at the Fair! Help us all with the transition away from single-use plastic to recycled cloth bags, which can be used again, and again, and again! Don't know how to sew? We'll teach you, and you can make your own bag to take home with you.

Perhaps you have already made your own re-usable bag and would like to enter it in this year's competition for Most Creative Shopping Bag made from Recycled Materials, which includes a cash prize. Entries can be submitted at the Home and Garden Building on Sunday, Aug. 4, between 1 and 4pm, or on Monday, Aug. 5, between 9:30am and 12:30pm. ( And also for the Most Creative Sewn Doll)
Whether you already sew cloth bags, or would like to learn how to make cloth bags, we hope you'll stop by the Sewing for Change booth in the Home and Garden Center on Saturday, Aug. 10, between 10 and 2pm.
