This coming Friday is your last chance to see the Northeast-region premiere of Jane Chambers 1960's classic play A Late Snow, presented by Vermont Pride Theater at Chandler as part of its ninth annual summer pride festival July 26th through August 4th.
In Ms. Chambers' play, closeted college professor Ellie finds herself snowbound in an isolated cabin with her first love, an ex-love, her current love, and a potential new love. Though written more than 50 years ago, A Late Snow remains relevant to modern audiences through its exploration of timeless themes of love, betrayal, and acceptance. Director Shannon Sanborn's talented cast consists of Amy Elizabeth (Tunbridge), Ashley Hall (Warren), Andra Kisler (Northfield), Susan Loynd (Fayston), and Heather Pagel (Worcester).
Friday's performance of A Late Snow will begin at 7:30 PM. A talkback between the audience and ensemble members will follow, with a complimentary reception afterward.
The Music Hall is an air-conditioned space, thanks to donations of community members.
During the entire festival period, the paintings of artist John Krause, who now teaches at Princeton University, will be on display in the Lower Gallery.
Festival ticket prices are adults, $20, students, $15. A 3-admission flex pass, good for any combination of tickets, costs $50 adults, students $35. Three-Squares/SNAP participants and food-shelf clients can purchase a $5 ticket at the door, no questions asked. Tickets are now on sale at www.chandler-arts.org or (802) 728-6464.
