The Chelsea Historical Society and genealogical experts present a week-long summer program on how to research your family tree!

Have you ever wondered where your family came from?
Have you ever wondered when your family arrived in the USA?
Have you ever wondered how and when your family got to Vermont?
These and many more questions can be answered with just a little fun and guided research this summer.
This will be a free summer program meeting at the Chelsea Public School from August 5th through the 9th from 10:00 – 2:00 with an opportunity to create your own family tree and present it on Saturday August 10th at the Chelsea Historical Society's Open House (optional).
The Mormon Church has the most extensive genealogical records in the world. Marcene and Danny Ferguson, from the Joseph Smith Memorial in Sharon, will teach you how to use their amazing online tool to research your family history. Find out who your parents' parents' parents were as far back as you can go! Maybe there are explorers, scientists, presidents, Salem witches, kings, queens, inventors, famous authors, or pirates in your past! You can be sure that whoever you find had a story to tell, and all those stories lead to you. You will be surprised by the information you will gain about your family history in just one week.
Pick up forms ahead of time at the Chelsea Public Library, if you get a chance. You can fill in some family names and dates beforehand so you can jump right in on August 5th.
Free snacks will be served. Bring your own lunch if you plan to stay for the entire time.
If you have a laptop and/or a smart phone, bring it/them. We will have some computers available, but cannot guarantee there will be enough for everyone.
Discover when your family arrived in America and where they lived between then and their arrival in Chelsea, Vermont. Come and join in the fun of learning interesting facts and information about your own family history.
You do not need to attend for the whole week, but the more days you attend the more info you'll uncover.
