Soiree Sucree Honors Barre's French Canadian Heritage

The annual Soiree Sucree, the perfect combination of sweet eats and sweet sounds, will begin at 5:30 pm on Thursday, July 25 at the Old Labor Hall, 46 Granite Street in Barre. Bakers -- both amateur and professional are invited to enter the baking contest, by entering their tourtieres {meat pies}and/or sweet desserts. Deadline for entries: 5:00 pm at the Labor Hall. The judges will declare the winners, then the public is invited to sample the contest entries and an enormous tray of desserts baked by Tim Boltin and his team at Delicate Decadence. From 6:00 to 8:30 pm, Michele Choiniere and her trio will perform the music of Quebec. Entry forms and ticket prices are posted on this website: www.oldlaborhall.org.
