Wild Parsnip Showdown at Monkton Central School

Past event
Jul 24, 2019, 7:30 to 8:45 PM

Don't miss what might be our last major Wild Parsnip pull of the season! This session should complete clearing the area around the ball field below the playground at Monkton Central School (MCS). If we have enough time and people, we'll also work on some of the area near the lower parking lot at MCS.

Please consider stopping by to help out or just to see how it works. As noted on past parsnip battles, the more hands we have the more impact we can make. It's a great way to contribute to the community while helping to protect the kids at MCS from exposure to this plant.

Wear long pants, a long sleeved shirt, and bring gloves. We'll have a number of the Parsnip Predator shovels to try out, or bring your own favorite shovel. If you have not done much of this before no worries, it's not difficult and we'll be happy to show you how.

We'll meet at the lower parking lot at MCS. If you arrive after 7:30 just walk down toward the playground and ball field and you'll see the group.
