Join the Lake Champlain Basin Program and our educational partners as we host National Geographic's freshwater blog writer, Lisa Borre, in Celebrating Clean Water Day! Borre, who served as the first coordinator of the Lake Champlain Basin Program, co-founded LakeNet, an international lake program, and is a member of GLEON, a Great Lakes initiative. Growing up on Lake Michigan, Borre made an easy transition to the Lake Champlain region. Also an avid sailor, Lisa and her husband recently authored a book about sailing the Black Sea and now reside on the Chesapeake Bay.

Using a series of beautiful images, Borre will share her stories of world lakes and waters, highlight why we should celebrate them and discuss common resource issues which many world waters now face.

This free public program will begin at 5:00 P.M. Friday, March 21st, at ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center at the Leahy Center on the Burlington Waterfront. Borre's presentation will be followed by a Celebration of Student Work from Vermont, New York and Quebec in honor of Clean Water Day. For further information contact the Lake Champlain Basin Program at 372-3213. Please join us for light refreshments beginning at 4:30 p.m.!
