On July 23 at 8 pm on the lawn of the Sandgate Methodist Church (3 miles up Sandgate Rd from West Rte 313) the Mettawee River Theatre Co will perform The Ringdove, a tale whose origen reaches back to ancient India. The central characters are a crow, a rat, a turtle and a gazelle, whose adventures, behavior and relationships reflect many aspects of human nature. The show, incorporating masks, large puppets and other visual elements tells the story of the creatures' growth in friendship with each other, as they achieve strength and harmony through cooperation and understanding.
The Mettawee River Theatre Co has been coming annually to Sandgate for many years and they never disappoint. Come, bring blankets or chairs and enjoy this wonderful family entertainment!
