Join us at Bent Northrop Memorial Library on Wednesday, July 24th, at 2:30pm for this special event! Free and fun for all ages.
Storyteller, children's author and musician Michael Caduto immerses the audience in a rich experience of the great Sky Dome that arches overhead.
Participants sing along to guitar and delight in the drama and humor created by a multitude of faces and voices of the animals and people in the stories. Come hear how Coyote becomes the moon (Kalispel), how Grandmother Spider steals the Sun (Muskogee/Creek), how Fisher goes to Sky Land and changes into the Big Dipper (Anishinabe/Chippewa), how Nagah, the mountain goat, becomes the North Star (Paiute) and how a Golden Egg falls out of the sky (Eastern Europe).
This performance uses songs, chants, native instruments (drum and rattles) and entertaining stories that are carefully chosen from among indigenous cultures found throughout North America, and beyond.
