Join your neighbors to celebrate the Grand Opening of South Hero's new Worthen Library on Saturday, July 20th at 10:00 a.m. The new library is at 28 Community Lane (next to the fire station and Wally's Bagels off of U.S. Rte. 2).
After the ribbon-cutting, take a tour of the new library. Bring the kids to play in the bouncy house, get their faces painted, cool off with Ben & Jerry's ice cream, or buy a hot dog from the Cub Scouts. Or, just come in to enjoy the air conditioning and read a book!
South Hero's library will be the first new public library in Vermont since Waterbury built a new library after theirs was destroyed by Hurricane Irene. "What makes our grand opening unique," said Library Board Chair Ken Kowalewitz "is that we have built this great new space without asking our local taxpayers for a bond. Each board and brick has been paid for by the generosity of over 400 individuals, businesses, and foundations."
Come to the Grand Opening and help make South Hero history. See you Saturday, July 20th! For more information, contact the library at (802) 372-6209.
