The Town of Braintree is in the process of updating its Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, and will be holding a meeting to discuss mitigation strategies on Monday, July 22nd, 2019, at 7 PM in the Town Office (932 Vermont Route 12A). Please join us and share your input on potential strategies to protect safety and property in Braintree.
Local Hazard Mitigation Plans are part of an effort by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to reduce damage from foreseeable natural and human-caused hazards. They enable towns to qualify for grant funds, and they make our communities safer. Examples of projects in local plans include increasing culvert sizes, regulating flood hazard areas, stabilizing landslides, and tree trimming near power lines.
