Lights for Liberty

This Friday, July 12, I invite you to join Lights for Liberty's national call to stop torturing and detaining refugees and asylum seekers in the borderlands. There are more than 600 events worldwide demanding that the United States abandon these inhumane policies. This is not a partisan issue; it is an issue of human rights and compassion. Refugees have a legal right to seek asylum and the US has a legal and moral obligation to treat them with dignity.

We have two events locally: One will gather at College Park in Middlebury at 6pm and march to the town green until the beginning of the Festival on the Green. https://www.facebook.com/events/723030848152674/

In Rutland, gather at 7pm at Main St Park to hold vigil there. https://www.facebook.com/events/2829325537140834/

Please come and BRING YOUR FRIENDS. People of good conscience all over the world are anguished about what is being done to families and children at the U.S. border, and with good reason. It's time to turn that grief and compassion into action – please SHOW UP!
