The 2019 Chester Summer Music Series is delighted to present Kate Lorenz and her rock-n-roll band The Constellations, comprised of Ben Falkoff, Max Adam and Don McAulay on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 6 30 PM on the Academy Lawn across from the Green, downstreet Chester, Vermont as the second of our six summer concerts.
Kate Lorenz, raised in Chester, Vermont and a graduate of Green Mountain Union High School, has been singing since she learned how to talk. An avid lover of classic rock and motown, she started off by harmonizing with what she heard on mix tapes and in her parents' vinyl collection and cut her teeth on the blues while studying abroad playing with a pub band in Ireland.
Kate formed the nationally touring folk-rock band Rusty Belle with her brother Matt Lorenz (The Suitcase Junket), Zak Trojano and Jazer Giles in 2006 and has recorded backing vocals for fellow folk artists Chris Smither, Jeffrey Foucault, Caitlin Canty and Hayward Williams.
Her powerful voice has been compared to the gritty howls of Etta James and Janis Joplin and the tender country soul of Patsy Cline.
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets.
In the event of rain, the concerts will be held at American Legion Post #67, 637 Route 103 S. in Chester.
