Nature is all around us and one of the most incredible times to celebrate is summer, when everything is growing, the flowers are in full bloom, and there is bright green leaves on the trees. Children are invited to tap into their imagination and creative side as we explore what the planet earth has to offer. In this camp the trees, rocks, flowers, and streams are the catalyst for the campers inspiration. Campers will learn about the ecosystems they live in and surround them, the names of the plants and animals in their natural environment, and about Nature Artists such as Andy Goldsworthy, Chris Jordan, Mathilde Roussel, and the Red Earth Environment Art Group. They will also be given many opportunities throughout the week using the natural materials they found to create their own Nature Art. Project will include weaving a nature loom, creating a nature journal, making their own birds nests, crafting their own nature sun catchers and wind chimes, making their own chia pets, rock painting, flower mandalas, flower and leaf printing, and more. Other activities include morning yoga practices, nature walks, yard games, obstacle courses, free time, and a scavenger hunt.
