Wednesday, July 17th at 5:00 p.m.

Windham Regional Woodlands Association (WRWA) a non-profit organization that promotes good forestry practices through forest tours and other educational events is sponsoring a tour of Allard Lumber's Ferry Rd Mill. Allard Lumber processes local timber into lumber, pallet cants and bridge mats. They are a former recipient of the Northeastern Logger's Association Mill of the Year award. It is a highly efficient mill with the drying kilns heated by sawdust and electricity produced on site from a cogeneration steam turbine.

The tour will start at the main office at 74 Glen Orne Drive. Please dress appropriately including covered toe shoes or boots as we will be inside, outside, and on uneven ground.

Directions: From Exit 3 off I-91 go around the rotary to the third turnoff and go North on Route 5. Continue for about a quarter of a mile. At the stoplight, take a RIGHT onto Old Ferry Road. Past Gordon's Auto Repair, take a RIGHT onto Glen Orne Dr. We will meet at the main office on the LEFT, 74 Glen Orne Dr.

See the WRWA website windhamwoodlands.org for additional information.
