Colchester Parks & Recreation is excited to kick-off the 2019 Summer Concert Series this Thursday, July 11, with a band that was a huge hit last year: Prydein! All concerts begin at 7:00pm. Bring your lawn chairs, your blankets and picnic dinner to Lower Bayside Park (beach side) and enjoy great music with the beauty of Malletts Bay as your backdrop. Admission is FREE. We are also excited to welcome Re-Marc-Able Bakery as a concert vendor! They will be on-site selling a variety of delectable baked goods to add a sweet accent to your concert-going experience (so save room for dessert!).
Prydein is a Celtic Rock Band from the Burlington area and has been playing together in one form or another for over 20 years. Formerly Whisky Before Breakfast, the band includes Aron Garceau on guitar and vocals, Iain Mac Harg and Hazen Metro on Scottish Bagpipes, Andy Smith on bass and Caleb Bronz on drums. Traditional Scottish, Irish and Breton tunes mingle effortlessly with a modern day rhythm section which presents these tunes on a new palette, mixed with new genres to bring forth an original form of Celtic Rock seldom seen or heard anywhere else. A headliner of Celtic festivals all over the United States, Prydein is an explosive experience to see live and will certainly be a highlight of your summer. More info at: https://www.prydein.com
WEATHER: In the event that inclement rain and/or thundershowers are in the forecast on Thursday, a cancellation announcement will be made by 1:00pm for this event. The notice will be posted on Parks & Recreation Social Media and on the http://colchestervt.gov homepage.
