My friends Shea Dunlop and Tommy Bergeron made a production company called Verdantrics! Their Kickstarter is happening now and their first show is in August. Please consider supporting them by donating and/or attending their show!

"35mm" goes up on August 9th @ 8pm and August 10th @ 3pm and 8pm at Memorial Hall in Essex, VT!

This explains it all:

It's never too early to start a business, as college students Shea Dunlop of Hinesburg and Tommy Bergeron of Essex have proven over the past couple months. Both are musical theatre majors at the University of Hartford's Hartt School in CT, having known each other since middle school through the Flynnarts show choir programs in Burlington. Facing a lull of theatrical activities to participate in over their summer break home in VT, the ambitious friends decided to produce a musical themselves -- and while they were at it, formally start a non-profit theatre production company based on the concept of peer-to-peer education in performing arts. No "adults" allowed. Thus, Verdantrics Production Company was born.

So, what fruits will be born of this labor this summer? You can catch 35mm: A Musical Exhibition at Essex Memorial Hall August 9th & 10th. The pop-rock musical is based on a collection of photographs, the lives of the subjects intertwining through heartwrenching musical storytelling. Everything from the lighting, set, and costume design to the musical direction, from the fundraising to the advertising, from the choreography to the performers themselves will be entirely student-produced. Come out and see what the local kids can do!

Shea and Tommy are currently in their initial fundraising stage, having just launched their Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/verdantrics/35mm-a-musical-exhibition-0. Verdantrics is backed by a generous donor who is offering the young entrepreneurs a $5,000 challenge grant: every dollar donated by the community will be matched up to that amount. If Verdantrics' mission of providing a space for groundbreaking peer education in the arts resonates with you or anyone you know, or if you simply want to learn more or collaborate, don't hesitate to reach out by emailing verdantrics@gmail.com or visiting the official Instagram page, @verdantrics, or the Facebook page, Verdantrics Production Company.
