BREAKING FREE FROM ARCHITECTURE:
Reading and writing from the poetry of Barbra Guest.
This craft session will focus on reading several of Barbara Guest's poems, including Invisible Architecture and PARACHUTES. We will discuss and close read, look at her use of ekphrahstic (poetry in response to visual art), use artist statement/gallery statements to clarify if the work seems opaque and then do 30 minutes of free writing based upon Guest's unique methodology. This will be an informative and generative workshop!
